DOCUMENTARY | HEIRS OF 2 SHORES
In development | 52’- France/Sénégal
Through the stories of their descendants, Heirs of Two Shores unveils a little-known migration: that of West Indians who settled in West Africa—mainly in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal—during the era of independence in the 1950s and 1960s. These men and women, including teachers, administrators, and professionals, crossed the Atlantic, often driven by the hope of contributing to the development of the newly independent African states. For some, this journey was also a personal quest—to reconnect with the land of their ancestors.
